Infiniti will unveil the concept of one of its cars with the new Q Inspiration platform on August 23. This new platform, which was unveiled by the company in January substantiates its aspiration of an electrified line-up that is expected to hit the markets from 2021.
The company on Thursday teased a sketch of the upcoming concept which suggests that the car would be a Sportster of some sort. This would be the first of the models which will be a part of the company’s vision to combine performance and electrification.

“Our new concept provides clues to where the Infiniti brand is heading,” Infiniti design chief Karim Habib said in a statement. “Our electrified cars will be powerful, efficient, and a joy to drive, and the new concept is a physical representation of our electrified performance future.”
The company has not embodied any vehicles with the Q Inspiration platform. However, the cars which are set to roll out onwards of 2021 will be primarily based on it.

Previous revelations about the platform suggest that the company has ditched rear-wheel drive for new all-wheel hybrid functionalities. Surprisingly, unlike other hybrids in the market, Infiniti’s hybrids will charge its batteries by a combination of energy regeneration and an internal combustion engine. In simpler words, it would not need a plug.
Earlier, the company had announced its plans of replacing the current Q70 platform with the Q Inspiration, (except for the QX80). This meant that the company was in plans to chuck all wheel drives for all its models after 2021.
