A competitive aspect has been added to green motoring with the 2019 Electric Vehicle Road Trip Middle East. Tickets for the event are now on sale.
The road trip will journey through the UAE and Oman, with participant competing against each other on the basis of time and energy efficiency. the 2019 Electric Vehicle Road Trip Middle East will commence from the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi on January 17, 2019. The road trip will span 1,700km and cover cities like Muscat, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Khasab. The participants will finish the competition in Dubai on January 24, exactly a week later. Global EVRT, a firm that focuses on accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles globally is the mastermind organisation behind the event.
The 2019 EVRT Middle East is not just about participants measuring their driving range against each other. Road trippers will be taken to remote locations deliberately in a bid to assess the practicality of the electric cars. This might sound a bit bland for some, but there’s more. The road trip organisers have also charted out adventure activities for the participants along the 1,700km course. The activities include zip-lining on the world’s longest zip line in Ras Al Khaimah and a swimming race to Snoopy Island, Fujairah.
The 2018 edition of EVRT Middle East featured cars like the Tesla Model S and Model X along with a regional debut from the Chevrolet Bolt electric car. “It’s an exciting time in the automotive industry due to so many new electric vehicles being launched worldwide, and many of those products arriving here in the GCC during 2019,” says Managing Director at Global EVRT Ben Pullen. “We look forward to putting more of the latest models to the test and getting many more people behind the steering wheel.”
Global EVRT is committed to electric vehicle adoption for a smart and sustainable future. It has a three-pronged strategy to accelerate the adoption of EV technology. The company conducts mobility conferences, long-distance EV road trips, and showcasing events. The conferences enable sharing and learning within the industry. The EV road trips engage the participants with new technology whilst also demonstrating the cars’ capabilities. Lastly, showcasing events encourage the industry and its consumers to interact directly.
Tickets are now on sale for the EV Road Trip. The tickets are split in two legs, i.e. Abu Dhabi to Muscat (January 17-20) and Muscat to Dubai (January 21-24). You can book your space in the Global EVRT Middle East here.
