Bin Hamoodah Auto on Sunday sold the first Chevrolet Bolt in Abu Dhabi. Taking a step towards an eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle in the emirates, Mohamed Saeed Salem Balabd Alsuwaidi was handed over the keys to General Motors’ ambitious EV.
Chevrolet Bolt’s 520km range on a full charge is so far the maximum delivered by any in the EV segment. “I am extremely excited to finally get my hands on the Chevrolet Bolt EV. Every little step counts on the journey to a greener future and I was thrilled to hear that Chevrolet was introducing more environmentally friendly options to their regional line up. The Bolt EV is the perfect car for me as it offers unbeatable green credentials and I don’t have to compromise on practicality, thanks to the Bolt EVs performance and range abilities. This purchase was a positive step for me and I can’t wait to start driving the Chevrolet Bolt EV around the UAE.” said Mohamed.
The 60kWh battery is connected to a permanent magnetic drive motor and delivers 200bhp of power and 360Nm of torque, capable of propelling the car to reach triple-digit speeds in a claimed 6.5 seconds.
The car can attain a full charge in 9.3 hours when connected to a standard 240V output and a charge worth 144km in 30 minutes when connected to an SAE Combo DC Fast Charge.
“Since its reveal at the Dubai International Motor Show and its participation in the Global Electric Vehicle Road Trip, the appetite for the Chevrolet Bolt EV in the region has shown no signs of abating. We have already sold two Chevrolet Bolt EVs to customers in Dubai this summer and this first sale in Abu Dhabi marks the beginning of a new chapter for us in the Emirate. Coupling up the Chevrolet Bolt EV with customers dedicated to driving change is a reward in itself for our team. We would encourage anyone who has any questions about electric vehicles to visit one of our showrooms to experience the future of mobility for themselves.” said Molly Peck, Chief Marketing Officer at General Motors – Middle East.
