Shoppers of Amazon Go in Seattle were in for a surprise on the 9th and 10th of November as Audi had partnered with the leading retailing chain to provide its customers with a unique test drive of the 2019 Audi A6.
On the 9th and 10th of November, Audi filled shelves inside the Amazon Go store with key boxes. These boxes allowed a shopper to claim a test drive in the premium sedan that was waiting outside the store. However, throughout the experience, Audi did not place any salesperson for the car.
Audi and Amazon named the program as “Test Drive to the Unknown” which took shoppers on unprecedented adventures. While some of the shoppers arrived at unplanned concerts while the other arrived at a photo shoot. The 30-minute test drive was extended for a few lucky shoppers who grabbed the keys for a longer experience.
Apart from this, some of the shoppers were even treated to grander experiences including cheese-making classes or helicopter tours. Reports suggest that one of the shoppers was surprised with a five-day trip to Munich, Germany where he and a companion toured Audi headquarters and experienced the A6 on the Autobahn.
This, however, was not just an attention grabber as Vice President of Marketing of Audi America, Loren Angelo stated that the experience was a sneak peek at what the company plans to incorporate into its branding and marketing in the future, aiming at reaching buyers in new ways.
