Chevrolet Alghanim of Kuwait celebrated its 70th anniversary of partnership with General Motors by setting a Guinness World Records title for the largest flag flown by a vehicle.
Chevrolet has consistently been at the forefront when it comes to participating in challenges and collaborations. The latest challenge was in Kuwait, where Chevrolet Alghanim registered a remarkable success and achieved a Guinness World Records Title for the Largest Flag Flown By A Vehicle. The vehicle in question was a Silverado 3500 Heavy Duty which pulled the Kuwaiti flag measuring 433 square metres for more than 100 metres without any part of it touching the ground.
Yusuf A. Alghanim & Sons Automotive conducted the event on the occasion of its 70-year anniversary of partnership with General Motors. The date also coincided with the 100th anniversary of the launch of Chevrolet pickups. Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons, in partnership with General Motors, has been providing Chevrolet products and services in Kuwait since 1948.
Chevrolet Alghanim successfully set the record for the largest flag flown by a vehicle with Guinness World Records.
It has managed to clinch the GrandMasters 13 times. This title is presented to General Motors distributors that successfully elevate customer experience at their facility. Incidentally, Chevrolet Alghanim is the largest and most advanced in the world, providing its customers with a holistic car service experience.
Director of corporate communications of Alghanim Industries, Abdullateef Al-Sharikh spoke about the feat: “We’d like to dedicate this achievement to all Chevrolet Alghanim customers for their loyalty and trust. For more than 70 years, generations of customers in Kuwait have welcomed Chevrolet into their homes. Chevrolet introduced its first pickup in 1918, when the lineup included two lightweight models. Since then, the American carmaker has been striving to up the ante with continually improved offerings in the segment. The current sales figure stands at 95 million Chevrolet pickups and counting.

The Silverado 3500HD featuring in the world record is powered by a 6.0-litre Vortec V8 engine with a powerful 360hp and 515Nm on tap.
An adjudicator from Guinness World Records was present at the occasion to announce the achievement. The activity also saw strong attendance from many young Kuwaiti volunteers who assisted in raising the huge flag just before kick-off. The volunteers were filled with pride and happiness, especially after the announcement of the success of the attempt officially.
