Kia Motors recently unveiled its biggest SUV ever, the Kia Telluride, at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. Now, the South Korean carmaker has confirmed that the big three-row SUV is coming to the UAE in April.
Kia Motors has indeed come a long way when you take a look at its current product lineup and compare it to a decade ago. With a long list of models ranging from hatchbacks to crossovers, Kia has been leaping from strength to strength each passing year. At the 2019 Detroit Auto Show, the company plugged a gaping hole in its lineup by unveiling the new Telluride full-size SUV.
With its imposing form and dimensions, the 2020 Kia Telluride is sure to find a lot of takers in the UAE.
Although Kia and its sister brand Hyundai possess some of the best equipped cars of their segments, both the firms lacked one product that could help find traction in markets such as the US and Middle East. Hyundai took care of that by launching the Palisade. Kia followed suit with the Telluride. The latter went on to confirm that it will be offering the Telluride in the UAE April 2019 onwards.
The 2020 Kia Telluride was designed in the brand’s California, US design studio, targeted specifically towards the full-size luxury SUV segment. It can seat up to eight passengers (driver included) in comfort. Kia has also chosen to base the Telluride on a monocoque body made of 60 percent high-strength steel. The Telluride also features self-levelling rear suspension which compensates the body height and angle for towing loads up to 2,268kg.
Only one engine is on offer for now: a 3.8-litre V6 mated to an eight-speed transmission sending power to the front or all wheels as per your choice. The V6 makes 291hp and 355Nm, giving the eight-seater SUV plenty of punch for both highways and urban scenarios.
Kia has left no stone unturned to make sure the Telluride rivals the best of SUVs when it comes to interior luxury.
Additionally, Kia has also loaded the Telluride with a comprehensive electronics suite. Features like Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Head-Up Display, Rear Occupant Alert among others are standard fare on this three-row SUV.
Kia Motors will start selling the Telluride in the UAE starting April 2019.
