Following a rigorous selection process, General Motors Africa and the Middle East chose AkzoNobel as its refinish partner for the region.
Established in 1792, the Netherlands-based company makes paints and coatings, setting the standard in colour and protection. Through its partnership with the American automaker, AkzoNobel will provide comprehensive technical training and network support to the professionals at the GM body shop network through its team of experts.
AkzoNobel has over two centuries of expertise in paint and protection.

The two companies will also work together to build a comprehensive programme of products, services and training to be delivered in three stages. AkzoNobel’s services will prove useful for GM in colour matching, quality repairs and body shop efficiency. The company uses digital colour technologies and techniques such as the Automatic Vision, MIXIT and Car beat – a digital communication system for the body shop.
The Netherlands-based company will provide technical training and network support to GM professionals.
AkzoNobel’s innovation also aims at allocating a separate process for smaller refinish jobs. The company provides expertise in UV Technologies for its paints alongside innovations that would help conserve inventory resources.
