Al-Futtaim Lexus has partnered with the five-time Middle East Drift Champion and Guinness World Record Holder Ahmad Daham as its brand ambassador for the F performance sub-brand. The professional drifter and tuner is well-known in the Middle East amongst petrolheads and car enthusiasts. The Jordanian began his drifting career while he was a teenager, turning professional in 2011 and won two King of Drift titles in 2014 and 2015. He will now be behind the wheel of the world’s first Lexus RC F Pro Drift car, which has been completely custom-built in the UAE and was unveiled by Al-Futtaim.

Ahmad and his specialised Lexus RC F will participate in the upcoming drifting season at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom in July. This action-packed event will be followed by some more high-strung drifting competitions that will be held in Norway, the UAE, and Oman. The newly formed partnership between Al-Futtaim Lexus and Ahmad Daham brings together two renowned and well-admired brands in the region. The Drift King himself seemed really pleased with the proceedings as he said, “I am honoured to be partnering with a brand like Lexus. I look forward to another successful season and am confident with this partnership we will be able to achieve all our objectives.”

Speaking about his current racing machine – the incredibly capable and one-off RC F Pro Drift car, which he actually helped build, Ahmad was extremely pleased quoting. “Building a car like this would normally take about 5-6 months but with the support of local garages, the car was fully custom built in the UAE in just 70 days. I would like to thank them for their support in bringing this project to life in record time.” The expeditious yet meticulous attention to detail that is required to successfully finish a project such as this really goes to show the dedication and hard work that it takes to prepare for professional competitions.

The Lexus RC F Pro Drift is truly one of a kind, featuring some of the most cutting-edge and advanced technologies in the industry. Under the bonnet is the Japanese marque’s famous 3UR-FE engine, though it has been heavily modified for the purpose at hand. While the standard version of this motor powers some of the brand’s high-end models, in this instance, it churns out an astonishing 844hp and 858Nm of torque at 6,400 rpm. The Lexus RC F Pro Drift sends its engine’s grunt to the rear wheels and uses a Samsonas 4-speed sequential gearbox with a specialised twin-plate Competition clutch.

Other custom mechanicals on this Lexus RC F include a Radium fuel system, Harrop TVS2650 supercharger, PPE custom-made manifold and exhaust system, BC racing DR suspension kit, 6-piston front and 4-piston rear Brembo brake callipers, Pandem Rocket bunny wide body kit, and Toyo R888R 265-section front and 285-section rear tyres among others. Also, to cater to the fans, Al-Futtaim Lexus will be displaying the RC F Pro Drift in their showrooms in the UAE, soon.
