MG Motor’s brand-new mid-size SUV, the MG RX8, is now officially available across the Middle East. Offered with good levels of equipment and lots of space, the first-ever seven-seater SUV from MG Motor aims to shake up the market where large off-roaders continue to be extremely popular.
MG is entering an entirely new segment with the RX8. Robust and spacious, the SUV boasts of the longest wheelbase and largest third-row space in its class. It is as capable of long journeys as it is going off-road, or even cruising around town. All occupant will appreciate the advanced equipment and premium comfort on offer.

The MG RX8 features an old-school truck chassis for enhanced off-road capability. Its rugged nature is concealed cleverly beneath a modern, tasteful exterior design.
The MG RX8 showcases a bold yet simple design. A dual-slot hood, silver lower lip, chrome grille, and matric-style LED foglamps make for an imposing front fascia, while the rear end is executed elegantly with twin chrome exhaust tips, and LED taillamps. The RX8 can be had with 20-inch rims depending on the trim level.
Lighting is all-LED, and buyers can choose from a palette of six different exterior colours. Within the cabin, the MG RX8 reinforces the brand’s penchant for delivering premium finishes at non-premium prices. Finest materials like wood grain, chrome, and soft-touch trim are present inside the cabin. Buyers can opt for any of three interior colour schemes. MG brings top-notch leather upholstery from Bader for its SUV. Additionally, the high-end LUX trim features ventilated seats. MG Motor has also introduced enhanced sound insulation materials in the RX8.
MG Motor is renowned for offering some of the finest technology in its cars. The RX8 is no exception with a 7-inch Virtual Instrument, Hill Descent Control, and an advanced 4WD system with driving modes. The LUX trim adds multi-adjustable front passenger seat to the package, along with a premium audio system paired to eight high-quality speakers.
With flexible seating and a host of creature comforts, the RX8 is a versatile SUV suited for multiple purposes.
In terms of safety, MG Motor has equipped the RX8 with a wide range of systems such as front, side, and curtain airbags, front and rear sensors with rear view camera, TPMS, and Active Rollover Protection. The MG RX8 comes with a five-star C-NCAP rating. The LUX trim also features a Lane Departure Warning system.
Built on a strong truck chassis frame, the MG RX8 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 220hp and 360Nm. It sends power to the rear (STD trim) or all wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The 4WD system features a TOD (Torque On Demand) System which changes torque output characteristics based on the terrain the RX8 is going over.
