Chevrolet unveiled three new vehicles for Middle Eastern customers at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show. Headlining the launches is the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray, followed by the brand-new Onix saloon, and 2020 Captiva crossover.
The Captiva has been selling decently in the Middle East due to its family-friendly proposition, and Chevrolet has refreshed the crossover for the 2020 model year. The Onix saloon is a completely new entrant in the American carmaker’s regional lineup. Finally, the eighth-generation Corvette marks its regional launch at the motor show.

The first-ever mid-engine Corvette made headlines when it was unveiled globally. Marking a major departure from previous generations, the C8 Corvette also brought impressive performance to the table. Chevrolet also showcased a host of clever technology and engineering onboard the popular sports car.
It is faster than any Corvette before it from a standstill to 100kph, taking less than three seconds to cross the mark. And Chevrolet has not even released a Z06 or ZR1 performance package yet. Moving the engine behind the seats means the Corvette wears a substantially different silhouette than its previous iteration. However, Chevrolet has managed to keep it visually tied to the Corvette nameplate.
The 2020 Chevrolet Captiva enters a new generation for the Middle East, bringing with it a slew of updates in the styling, technology, and performance areas. Available in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations, the Captiva is recognisable as a Chevy SUV due to its familial design.

Chevrolet has cut no corners in ensuring that the SUV gets a comprehensive safety package, efficient engine, and creature comforts keeping in mind its target customer: families. The company has announced a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine will power the Captiva. It is as yet unclear whether more powertrains will be available optionally.
Chevrolet is introducing the Onix for the first time in the Middle East. The full-size saloon scores high on safety, offering a minimum of six airbags as standard. The car wears Chevrolet’s trademark design language and seats up to five passengers comfortably.
Chevrolet is pushing two engines with the saloon. A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor will power the entry-level trims, and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor will power higher-end variants. Both three-cylinder powertrains are tuned to offer maximum fuel efficiency.
Available in three trims, the 2020 Chevrolet Onix will join the regional lineup in late 2020. Chevrolet also showcased its selection of accessories at the Dubai International Motor Show. Customers can choose from an extensive selection of both cosmetic and performance upgrades.
