Nissan has expanded its flagship X-Trail crossover range in the Middle East with the introduction of the new X-Tremer special edition. The AWD X-Tremer is mechanically identical to the X-Trail and features new trim for the exterior to help it differentiate from the latter.
Nissan has updated the X-Tremer’s front and rear fascia with new bumpers finished in dark grey. The wheels are bigger at 18 inches in size, and a dark grey side sill trim rounds up the profile. The X-Tremer also features black roof rails and black side door mirrors.
Thierry Sabbagh, Managing Director for Nissan Middle East, said, “As temperatures start to drop across the region with the holiday season ahead, outdoor and adventure activities will be on the rise. The launch of our special edition X-TREMER, a five or seven-seat configuration crossover, perfectly ties in with adventure-loving families who are in search of a car that blends in with their outdoor personalities. Globally, the X-TRAIL has been dubbed as the world’s best-selling SUV, and with the X-TREMER now available in our market, we are confident that it will become a regional favourite too.”
Bigger wheels, premium interiors, and blacked-out exterior trim serve to set the X-Tremer apart from the SUV it is based on.
Nissan has equipped the special-edition X-Tremer with some features of the NIM (Nissan Intelligent Mobility) package. The features include Intelligent Around View Monitor and Intelligent 4×4 that add practicality for owners while making all occupants safer.
The 2019 Nissan X-Tremer is available in ten different exterior colours. The palette includes red, orange, blue, gold beige, dark olive, dark brown, silver, gray, white and black. The interior can be specified in black and beige two-tone upholstery.
Powering the special-edition SUV is a 2.5-litre turbocharged inline-four engine producing 169hp and 233Nm. Power is fed to all four wheels via a CVT gearbox. Overall, Nissan has retouched various parts and trims of the X-Tremer to make it slightly more unique than its standard X-Trail variant.
