Polestar enters UAE market
Polestar, a Swedish premium electric vehicle manufacturer set to enter UAE with Al-Futtaim Group as its representative to enter the market.

“We are excited to bring Polestar to the United Arab Emirates. As a premium electric challenger brand, we found a natural partner in Al-Futtaim Group, and we are pleased to join their portfolio of automotive brands,” Nils Mösko, Head of Strategy and Business Development at Polestar said.
With its simplified and 100% digital process, Polestar cars can be purchased online. However, it also features its physical retail locations known as Polestar Spaces and Polestar Destinations. These allow the consumer to explore details in Polestar cars and a test drive.
Polestar 2 versions
The arrival of Polestar in the UAE market will feature the rollout of the first car in the world to feature Google built-in, the fully-electric vehicle Polestar 2.
Internationally launched in 2020, Polestar 2 model will have three versions in the UAE. It will feature a variant of a range-topping long-range dual motor with two electric motors and a 78-kWh battery. It will have an output of 408 hp and 660 Nm alongside an electric range of 482 km. The second version is a long-range single motor with the same 78-kWh battery which will become available later in 2022. It will feature a different electric range of 542 km with a total output of 231 hp and a 330 Nm powertrain.
Standard range single motor version of the Polestar 2 will feature a 69-kWh battery pack and 444 km electric range. It will feature the same version of 231 hp and a 330 Nm electric motor.
Polestar 2 innovative features
UAE’s Polestar Destination will become open to the public in Dubai later in 2022 with the Polestar 2 rollout. Featuring Polestar 2 is its Android Automotive OS infotainment system that provides a comprehensive digital ecosystem for apps and vehicle functions. And for the first time in a car, it will be embedded with Google services like Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store.
Mohamed Kassem highlighted, “With an optional vegan interior that particularly addresses plasticizers, Polestar also makes strong sustainability statements with Polestar 2, releasing its first Life Cycle Assessment report in 2020, with full methodology and transparency, and with a call to the industry at large for a uniformly open and transparent way of disclosing the carbon footprint of electric vehicles from all manufacturers.”
“Al-Futtaim’s customer-centric approach will continue to enrich our customers’ lives as we introduce the UAE’s residents to the Polestar experience and the market-leading premium electric Polestar 2,” Kassem added.
According to Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, “Polestar 2 is a very attractive, powerful car.” It represents a “perfect combination of key attributes when it comes to the pleasure of driving, the joy and the fun of it – the emotional aspect,” he added.
With this, the consumer will not only experience the pleasure of driving a Polestar car but also engage in the innovation it will bring into the market. Being an electric performance car brand, Polestar takes part in UAE’s Environment Vision 2030.
